WANAQUE, NJ — Following a successful Back to School Night on September 16, 2026, Lakeland Regional High School District Superintendent Jaime Cangialosi-Murphy has shared key district updates, policy reminders, and new student opportunities for the upcoming school year.

Key District Updates & Reminders
District Policy Reminders:
Device & Internet Usage: The district is focusing on encouraging face-to-face interaction and real-life connections ("Speaking IRL") among students.
Discipline Policy: All student discipline points have reset to zero for a clean slate this school year. The district's approach emphasizes immediate consequences alongside support to guide students toward making better choices.
Attendance Matters: Homeroom begins promptly at 7:40 AM. Accumulating 9 days of absence may result in a loss of course credit.
Safety & Traffic Rules:
E-Bike Laws: Students riding E-bikes are reminded that state law requires helmets, vehicle registration, insurance, and a valid moped or driver’s license.
Drop-off & Pick-up Locations: Morning drop-off takes place at the front of the buildings, while afternoon pick-up takes place at the rear.
Calendar Revision:
Friday, October 9, 2026: PSAT testing day with an early dismissal at 12:45 PM.
Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council
Superintendent Cangialosi-Murphy is inviting students to apply for the newly formed Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council:
Overview: The council will meet monthly and consist of two student representatives from each grade level.
Purpose: To engage in thoughtful conversation about key issues at LRHS and work together on solutions and improvements.
How to Apply: Interested students should submit a letter of interest outlining why they should be selected to represent their class.
