Do you know a teacher or educational services professional who is dedicated, inspiring, and making a difference for our students? Now is your chance to recognize them!
Lakeland is accepting nominations for the 2026-2027 Governor's Educator of the Year Program. Each year, we select one Teacher of the Year and one Educational Services Professional of the Year to be honored by the State of New Jersey. Our Teacher of the Year will also have the opportunity to compete for County Teacher of the Year.
WHO CAN NOMINATE
Everyone! Students, parents, staff members, administrators, and community members are all encouraged to participate.
WHO CAN BE NOMINATED
• Classroom teachers
• Educational services professionals, including school counselors, Child Study Team members, school psychologists, social workers, nurses, library media specialists, instructional paraprofessionals, speech-language specialists, athletic trainers, student assistance coordinators, and reading, math, and technology coaches
Nominees should be educators who inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities, collaborate with colleagues and families, show leadership and innovation in and out of the classroom, and have the respect and admiration of our school community.

In this race, the slowest wins! 🏆 Our Honors Physics and Matter/Energy CP students took on the Science Buddies Ball Run Challenge, using only paper and tape to keep a ping-pong ball rolling as long as possible. Spirals, funnels, and speed-bump flaps were the secret weapons.
